Privacy Policy for Tempofy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Tempofy mobile application ("Tempofy", "the App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use it. By using Tempofy you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

Tempofy is a mobile application that lets you control Spotify playback based on tempo (BPM). The App is published by the developer identified in the contact section below.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Spotify account data

Tempofy connects to your Spotify account using Spotify's official authentication (OAuth). When you log in, Spotify provides Tempofy with an access token and access to the parts of your account needed to operate the App, which may include:

• Your Spotify profile information (such as user ID and display name).
• Your playlists, saved tracks, and track metadata (including audio tempo/BPM).
• Playback state and the ability to control playback on your devices.

Tempofy uses this data solely to provide tempo-based playback features. We do not receive or store your Spotify password. Your use of Spotify is also governed by Spotify's Privacy Policy.

2.2 Usage and analytics data

Tempofy uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used and to improve it. This may include device information (device model, operating system version, language), app interaction events, approximate region, and identifiers such as an app instance ID. This information is collected in aggregate and is not used to personally identify you.

2.3 Data you store in the App

Tempofy uses Google Firebase Realtime Database to store app data associated with your account or device, such as your preferences and saved in-app settings, so that your experience is preserved across sessions.

3. How we use information

• To authenticate you with Spotify and provide the App's core playback features.
• To save and restore your in-app settings and preferences.
• To analyze usage and diagnose problems so we can maintain and improve the App.

4. How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with:

• Spotify — to authenticate and control playback on your behalf.
• Google Firebase — our analytics and data storage provider, acting on our behalf (see Firebase Privacy and Security).
• Legal requirements — where disclosure is required by applicable law.

5. Data retention

We retain data only for as long as needed to provide the App. Spotify authentication tokens are held for the duration of your session. Analytics data is retained according to Firebase's default retention settings. You can request deletion of stored data as described below.

6. Your choices and rights

• You can disconnect Tempofy from your Spotify account at any time via your Spotify account settings.
• You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the App.
• Depending on your location (e.g. EU/EEA, UK, California), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us below.

7. Children's privacy

Tempofy is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. International users

Your information may be processed on servers located outside your country, including by our service providers Spotify and Google. We rely on these providers' safeguards for international data transfers.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
